At TOT-SIBBNS, we understand we have an ethical and business responsibility to protect the safety of our team members and the environment. We've implemented strategies and procedures to limit the impact of our business activities on the planet and safeguard people. These include waste output from production sites, careful control over the use of electric power and adherence to the standards of security and safety in transport operations.
Every individual working with TOT-SIBBNS is responsible for meeting the Company's standards with respect to safety, health, security and environmental protection. Our goals are as follows:
- elimination of any possible accident or injury in production operations
- zero industrial accidents in production operations
- respect and protection of the environment
Guiding Principles for Environmental Protection
- Wise and prudent use of natural resources.
- Development and implementation of new technologies and methods that improve ecological and environmental benefits, reducing production man-caused load on the environment.
- Reducing power intensity.
- Development and implementation of waste-less technologies, effective use of chemicals and materials. Control over the production process during drilling, road building that meet or exceed the requirements set by environmental protection laws.
- Constant monitoring of the environment in our operating territory.
TOT-SIBBNS activities in the area of environmental protection are accomplished in accordance to RF and RT laws "About environmental protection" and meet all environmental protection standards and rules. We've dedicated resources to environmental security maintenance on production. These resources are managed by the Company's Safety Division and led by our Deputy Director General.
To reduce man-caused pollution of ground and surface water, our company adheres to the following:
- Building storm sewage for collecting and sterilization of manufacturing water.
- Flashing the earth storages. During drilling, drilling rigs equipped with a tight-circulation systems. These activities prevent filtering.
- Under KRS, brigade equipped with special equipment to prevent the spillage of liquid.
- Operating columns pressurized when drilling, as well as additional conductors used (intermediate columns).
- Special processing of equipment for security increase and work longevity.
Soil Conservation
Soil is a fragile natural resource that once damaged is often beyond repair. For safety of land resources we are reducing arable land territories and maximizing restoration of damaged layer of fertile land. Also we do re-vegetation of land polluted with manufacturing water and oil. Area of one borehole construction had been reduced (for comparison: in 1970 - 3.5 hectares, now - 0.86 hectares).
